Job Description1st shift, Mon-Thur, HVAC Sheet Metal Fab Shop – Foreman *Up to $35/hr DIRECT HIRE (Laurens SC, not far from Greenville) Our client does HVAC Design, builds layout, and installs, HVAC Commercial/Industrial Air Conditioning, Residential Air Conditioning for houses, Process Piping for natural gas and compressed air, Fire Sprinkler Systems, and Service and Maintenance of HVAC equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Manage shop crew in the production of ductwork and other miscellaneous fabrication required.
• Prioritize and schedule production to meet the demands of various projects in cooperation with the project managers and field foreman/superintendents for various project needs.
• Takeoff ductwork from general construction drawings.
• Enter all parts into the production computer program per pieced-marked and/or spool drawings.
• Create pieced-marked drawings when none are provided.
• Plan, layout, fabricate, and assemble duct work per SMACNA standards.
• Select the appropriate type of sheet metal, such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, aluminum per project specifications and SMACNA standards.
• Select, use, and operate a variety of special and standard equipment such as: Shear, CNC plasma machine, TDF machine, S-and-drive machine, snaplock machine, square to round machine, press brake, punches, crimping tools, bending and forming roll, spot welder, shrinking and stretching equipment, rivet gun, band saw, circular saw, hand and pedestal grinders, cutting saws, drill presses and thread tapping machines
• Ensure all parts are labeled per piece-marked drawings.
• Repair and maintain shop equipment as required
• Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods from the warehouse to various locations
• Load and unload products onto the delivery vehicle using a pallet jack or forklift
• Communicate with the supervisor regarding any issues or delays
• Inventory and order raw materials required to meet production needs without delay
• Create purchase orders and document spending to track costs against appropriate accounts.
• Provide excellent service by being professional, courteous, and helpful
• Strict adherence to company safety policies and practices
• Must be able to operate in a team environment, assisting other trades as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school education or equivalent – Related technical training or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in sheet metal production. 10 years’ experience preferred.
• Welding (MIG and TIG weld carbon and stainless steel) experience preferred
• CAD experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to multi-task

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Moderate to heavy physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level,
• Must be able to push, pull and/or lift to 50 pounds; and safely operate assigned machinery.
• Must be able to stand and work for long periods
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures
