India is a leading market for crypto investments. More than 20% of crypto investments in the country are concentrated in the cities of Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai. Top 10 cryptocurrencies in India
The Indian crypto market has kept pace with its global counterpart, giving traditional investment vehicles a run for their money. The following are the cryptos that figure in the top cryptocurrency list.

1. Bitcoin (BTC)

4. Shiba Inu (SHIB)

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is one of the most popular meme coins, second only to DOGE. This Dogecoin-inspired meme coin had investors divided in its initial days. However, it has stood the test of time and is currently in the top 11 crypto by market cap. SHIB has a robust community following aligning with the vision of its pseudonymous founder Ryoshi, who wanted to explore a crypto project entirely backed by its community and developers.
5. Dogecoin (DOGE)

Launched as a joke on Bitcoin in 2013, Dogecoin is the leading meme coin in the crypto market, competing with top cryptos like XRP and SOL. It is currently in the list of top 8 crypto by market cap and since its launch, it has captured the attention of crypto investors. DOGE became an internet sensation with the backing of its self-proclaimed Dogefather, Elon Musk. Its popularity is evident from the legion of meme coins that it inspired like SHIB and FLOKI.
6. Ethereum (ETH)

9. Polygon (MATIC)

When it was launched in 2017, Polygon was seen as a solution provider to the scalability issues in the Ethereum network. 10. Solana (SOL)

Solana (SOL) is currently the fifth crypto by market cap. Recently, SOL has been on an uptrend, rising from $20 in May 2023 to over $150 as of April 2024, a 600% jump. The staggering rise in price for SOL in the past year is attributed to several factors, including Solana network’s own NFT marketplace Solanart, its DeFi ecosystem, and the recent boom of meme coins on the Solana ecosystem.
